I'm Jinn.
Profile
I‘m a filmmaker and photographer. Since getting my first camera at age 12, I’ve found my voice through visual expression rather than words. My passion grew stronger with each new project I undertook while pursuing a BA in Communication Arts and certificates in Photography, Digital Film Production and Digital Studies at UW-Madison.
Experiences
My experiences in filmmaking spans directing, producing, and editing – from creating promotional videos for local businesses to producing music videos for emerging artists. At Hubei Radio Station, I independently edited a 60-minute TV program, and I've worked as a production assistant on the independent student film production “Chinese Satellite.” In every role, whether leading or supporting, I prioritize creative problem-solving and team dynamics. When assisting, I catch easily-missed details and solve problems proactively. In leadership positions, I focus on the big picture while keeping the team motivated and productive.

In photography, my lens has taken me through the streets of China, America, Mexico, and Japan, each frame telling a unique story of place and time. Current projects include “Pets and Their People” and “Madison at Night,” alongside my ongoing work in commissioned graduation and engagement photography. Each time I turn on my camera represents an opportunity to forge genuine interpersonal connections and see the world through a new lens.

Proficient use of camera and various camera accessories, sound recording technologies, as well as various video and photo editing softwares including Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Photoshop.
